Dear creator,
Thank you for signing up to (probably) write or (if we matched on Josie Day) possibly draw me one or more of my favorite characters in my favorite fandom! I have many favorite characters.
This letter exactly duplicates my sign-up requests; I just thought it might be easier to browse in this way.
I have written a lot of prompt-y things here! Please consider them as springboards, not checklists.
DNW: sexual content, rating over T for any reason, focus on unrequested ships, any character interpreting Seven & Ace as a couple/romantic.
Art treats welcome.
Tropes and topics I like in general: hurt/comfort, travel & visiting interesting (including imaginary) places, the Doctor (or the Doctor/Romana) trying human things, the Doctor being willing to go to great lengths for companions, moral dilemmas/conflicting priorities, 'everything is happy and nothing hurts', 'everything hurts a little bit but still we've got each other,' stories with historical settings, as well as really alien aliens.
I also like stories where platonic pairings go through typical shipping tropes (mistaken for a couple, accidental marriage, only one bed, etc.) and navigate those situations in their own unique ways, ultimately reaffirming how much they value their relationship the way it is (i.e. not ending up as a romantic or sexual pairing). (The exception to this as noted in DNWs is Seven & Ace.)
I ship Four/Romana and Seven/Romana, and if you want to write either of these pairings I like fluff, adventure, angst--pretty much anything not about sex. Platonic stories with Romana and any Doctor, or Romana on her own, are also wonderful. I really love her intelligence, her intensity, and her unique perspective as a Time Lady who's not strictly a renegade, but also not bound by the typical prejudices and assumptions of the Time Lords.
Six, solo or with any companion you like:
I really love Six, with all his prickly edges, and I love his relationships with both his TV companions. Either of the TV companions getting to use the special skills we never saw much of on TV (Peri's interest in botany, Mel's programming abilities) would be really awesome.
For Six & Peri, one thing I'd be interested in is a story set soon after the Doctor's regeneration, while he's still suffering from its effects and calling her by the wrong name and all that. How do they learn to cope with each other? How do they reach the much stabler relationship we see by the beginning of S23? (A story set in that much stabler period would also be welcome, of course!) For Six & Mel, I'd love to see them travelling with a third companion for a bit, or an outsider's perspective on them--they really are such an odd couple! They clearly work so well together, so what makes their relationship tick?
For Six without a companion, I'd be really interested in a story about the Doctor just after a companion leaves and how he copes. (Not particularly well, I think.) I'd also love to see a story about Six and someone who he really likes and respects, but who doesn't *want* to travel with him--an OC, especially an OFC, is just fine! I also think the Doctor's relationship with Gallifrey at this period is very interesting, and would welcome a story about that.
Seven and/or Ace and/or Ray:
My #1 request for Ray is just that I want more adventures with her! I think her friendship with the Doctor in the brief time they know each other is beautiful and they seem to really get each other. A canon-typical adventure or scene with Ray as companion would make me very happy!
For Seven and Ace, anything that digs into their relationship--whether it explores their insecurities or uncertainties about each other, or shows how beautifully they work as a team. I like the idea that Ace is in some ways as much of a mystery to the Doctor as he is to her--not because of Fenric, just herself--and that he puts a lot of thought and effort into trying to understand what makes her tick.
I didn't request Mel but I do love her; if you have an idea for a Seven & Mel story, I'd love it.
For Seven on his own, I'd be interested to see what he does when there aren't any companions he has to make a good impression on (whether you think this is morally shady behavior or just deeply weird behavior). Or an adventure in a very non-human society!
I also requested the TARDIS; I'd be interested in her relationship with any Doctor (that I requested or not), or with other characters and other TARDISes. TARDIS POV on a canon event would be great! I don't mind a little Doctor/TARDIS, although I think their relationship is very alien and doesn't really fit into any human terms.
Six & Charley OR Six/Charley:
I am interested in them either platonically or shipped! Either way, I really just want more of them--cute fluff, angst, tropey situations, missing scenes, whatever. I love how strange their relationship is, but they're both quite strange people at this point, so it... kind of works? I'd also be down for alternate ending/fixit fic where Charley tells him her secret in a different way, or where they meet again after their canon ending. *cries buckets* All my general likes are a great fit for them!
Six & Flip & Constance:
There is just not enough of them! I especially love Flip and Constance's adorable friendship with its big sister & little sister vibes. I would love to see a story that uses each of their strengths, especially one where Flip gets to shine and impress everybody--she's more than just the little cute one!
Six & Evelyn:
I'd love anything where Evelyn uses her knowledge of history, or her historical thinking in a place/time she knows nothing about! Or, alternatively, her ability to navigate the nonsense of academic politics.... Platonic domestic fluff with these two is great, and I wonder how they (by which I mean the Doctor) would handle being temporarily stranded and having to live in (gasp) a house. They're also prime material for my platonic-pairings-doing-ship-tropes like.
Seven & Ace & Hex:
For Seven and Ace, anything that digs into their relationship--whether it explores their insecurities or uncertainties about each other, or shows how beautifully they work as a team. I like the idea that Ace is in some ways as much of a mystery to the Doctor as he is to her--not because of Fenric, just herself--and that he puts a lot of thought and effort into trying to understand what makes her tick. I'm fascinated by how Hex changes their dynamic: in some ways having him around makes the two of them more of a pair, because he's the new guy, but then they each have an important friendship with Hex as well. I especially love how each of them seems to feel the need to protect the other two, and would love a story that showcases this (or one where it backfires on them!).
Gallifrey:
I don't ship any of the Gallifrey crew with each other, although I don't mind a suggestion of potential Narvin/Leela or a hint of Brax's unrequited adoration of Romana. Discussion of past Leela/Andred is fine.
Romana and/or Leela and/or Narvin and/or Braxiatel (basically, the OT4/OT3 and any relationship within it):
Some things I really love in canon and would love to see more of in fic are characters working together and bringing their different strengths to the problem, political shenanigans involving unlikely Gallifreyan traditions, and timey-wimey nonsense bleeding into the narrative (like in Square One). I like eldritch Time Lord headcanons and would love to know what Leela thinks about them. I would not be averse to an AU if you have a well-thought-out idea for one, especially if you use it as a way to explore parallels of the relationships and themes in canon.
Antonin:
Antonin and his mother, please! I'm super interested in alt!Romana and her family. (How the *heck* did she come to marry Andred?) Anything that gives some worldbuilding or character insight into alt!Gallifrey would be great.
Original Time Lord Character:
I requested this hoping for either worldbuilding or outsider POV on canon events. Gossip in the Capitol, Romana's or Narvin's family talking about them, soldiers in Pandora's civil war... what do they think?
Seven, Ace & Benny:
I love this team and would be happy for canon-typical adventure or character studies--especially Benny and Ace's relationship once they're less at daggers drawn. The Doctor really goes through it in these novels, as do they all, and I'd also be interested in a story that explores the accumulated effects of all that trauma and how the three of them help each other start to recover in their different ways. (I do have a particular weakness for Seven!whump, although I'm not interested in hurt-no-comfort.)
Innocet:
The only decent Time Lord! What happens to her after the events of Lungbarrow? What is readjusting to the outside world like? And does she maintain/rebuild a relationship with the Doctor (including after his regeneration)? Feel free to lean into the gothic novel vibes of Lungbarrow, or explore your own Gallifreyan headcanons.
Josie Day:
I love Josie and it drives me crazy that she doesn't have more stories than she does. A further adventure for her and the Doctor would be wonderful, as would worldbuilding relating to her backstory/how she came to exist. And then, she's apparently canonically quite soon before the Doctor gets involved in the Time War; I'd love to see her meeting a slightly later Doctor (Eight or War) who's been affected by it.
For art, I would love to see her and the Doctor anywhere interesting--maybe in space, or in a historical setting with fun and fancy costumes? Or I would also love to see your idea of what she herself might paint after her adventures!
