Dear Spacer,

Thank you for offering to write (or, possibly, make art or a vid) in one of my beloved fandoms! I look forward to seeing what you create.

I know many people like to have lots of prompts to work from, so I've given plenty; but if none of them works for you, or if you have something you're already excited about writing, don't feel constrained by my specific prompts. As long as it fits my DNWs, I'll enjoy it--what I really want is just to see your love for these characters and fandoms in your story. Also, please note that the length of each fandom's prompts reflects what I could think of, not how much I want that fandom--I requested all of these because I really, really want them!

DNW: explicit sexual content, including anything requiring over a T rating, or unrequested sexual/romantic ships.

Doctor Who (Big Finish Audio)

I like historical settings, as well as really alien aliens--or why not both? I also have several ship- or character-specific prompts for this fandom, if you want more ideas:

Six & Evelyn
If you are familiar with academia as a setting and want to set a story in Evelyn's workplace or an outer space equivalent, that's definitely one thing I would enjoy! (I'm in academia as well, and also in a humanities field--hence the username--so I do love when Evelyn talks about her work.) I also like stories where platonic pairings go through typical shipping tropes (mistaken for a couple, accidental marriage, only one bed, etc.) and navigate those situations in their own unique ways, ultimately reaffirming how much they value their relationship the way it is (i.e. not ending up as a romantic or sexual pairing), and I think Six & Evelyn would be a fantastic fit for that.

Six & Charley, Six/Charley
I'm listening to their audios at the moment, and honestly anything with them in it will be great--I don't have as many specific prompts for them. They don't seem to have caught much of a break in the audios I've heard, so how about a quiet day without a crisis? What would they do with a little time off (and how would they manage to get into mischief anyway)? For the Charley/Six request, I'm not so much interested in an established relationship or even a getting together story (although I could be convinced), but I'd be really down for some complicated yearning. She is or was in love with him but not him him; he feels drawn to her but doesn't understand why. Want to unpack that? Go right ahead! (Want to unpack that in a platonic, ampersand-ish way? Go right ahead with that too!)

Six solo
I'd be really interested in a story about Six just after a companion leaves and how he copes. (Not particularly well, I think.) Or if we matched on this but you want to write about Six with a companion, see my other prompts!

Two & Charley
I suspect that, if you offered this, it's because you wanted to know what on earth I was thinking--so here's what I was thinking: what if the Second Doctor, during his "Season 6B" period of working for the Time Lords, has to investigate and deal with time anomalies of various kinds... including the girl who definitely shouldn't have survived the crash of the R101. This could be an AU of Storm Warning with Two instead of Eight, or something where Two confronts his future self--is he quite as laissez-faire about the potential paradoxes as Eight is? There are lots of different directions you could take this; or if you were picturing bringing Two & Charley together in a different way entirely, I'd love to see that too! I just think their personalities would be so interesting together.

Margaret Pollard
We know that Charley has two sisters, Cecilia "Cissy" and Margaret "Peggy," and we know all about Cissy thanks to Gallifrey: A Blind Eye, but we really don't seem to know anything about Peggy, and I want to! A story from the Pollard sisters' childhood, a look at Peggy's later life (how does she cope with one of her sisters disappearing and the other becoming a fascist and committing suicide?), a story where Charley sees her again (what does Peggy think of Charley's unconventional space lifestyle?) or reminisces about her--it's all headcanons here, and I want you to tell me all of yours! Including other characters (Charley, Cissy, Lady Louisa, the Doctor, whoever) is totally fine; not including them is also fine; including OCs is completely fine.

Also, I have a random cracky headcanon that, since Cissy dates [spoiler] and Charley has... whatever relationship she has... with the Doctor, Peggy must have some kind of romantic relationship with some Time Lord somewhere, just for symmetry. If you want to play with that, have at it!

Eight & Charley, Eight/Charley, Eight & Charley & C'rizz
Any of these configurations is delightful to me. I don't have a lot of super-specific requests, but you can see the kinds of things I like, and I'm good with fluff, angst, humor, adventure, whatever you feel like writing. I do always feel like Eight/Charley deserve some fluffy tropey nonsense after everything canon put them through, if you like that--"mistaken for/undercover as a couple" and "accidental marriage" are a couple of my favorites. With C'rizz, I really like his alien point of view. I'd love to see him in an Earth-history adventure--or, alternatively, visiting somewhere where he fits in better than Charley and the Doctor do, for a bit of role reversal.

Doctor Who (1963)
I have SO MANY requests for this fandom that I'm going to try to group them together and keep my prompts brief, so please know that means I'll be extremely excited about whatever you write! In general, I like historical adventures, really alien aliens, missing scenes that link together different things in canon, character-focused pieces, fairly mild hurt/comfort, good-humored tropey nonsense, and angst of the melancholic variety.

First Doctor era (Ian/Barbara, Ian & the Doctor & Barbara & Susan, the Doctor & Vicki)
I love the character dynamics of this era--I think it's fascinating how whichever way you split up the initial four TARDIS travellers, there's interesting dynamics in both halves. I'd love to see something about Ian and Barbara early in their travels figuring out their relationship now that they're suddenly all each other has, or something about the Doctor and Susan's alien-ness. I adore Vicki--she's such a darling--and want happy things for her if possible; I think her friendly relationship with the Doctor makes so much sense now that we know that he's actually really young for a Time Lord, so I'd love to see them getting into mischief together. I also think it'd be fun to send any of these teams on a splashy, colorful, big-budget adventure that the show could never ever have afforded to do.

Second Doctor & Victoria
To be honest, I requested this because I thought whoever offered it would probably have a good story in mind--I don't have any particular prompt in mind myself. But I like Victoria and want nice things for her. Working through her trauma is great, as long as things get somewhat better for her over the course of the story; experiencing wonder and joy is also great, or being the heroine of an adventure. You're welcome to include Jamie if you like, or not. Also I've just seen that in the novel Heart of TARDIS apparently Victoria keeps a diary of her adventures which (in case of anyone in her own time seeing it and thinking her mad) she disguises as a Jules Verne-style proto-science-fiction novel about an 'experimental dirigible,' and this has made me realize that I would very much like something in Victoria's voice--whether her fictionalized diary or a letter or her later reminiscences, or perhaps telling a story to a child she meets while traveling.

Fourth Doctor/Romana II
I ship them like FedEx. Anything from tropey romance to Time War foreshadowing angst is wonderful. I love that air they have of irresponsible aristocrats on holiday--and then how they'll suddenly turn on a dime and start saving lives, if need be. I absolutely adore them being domestic, especially since neither of them is that good at it. I would love them being undercover as a Normal Earth Couple, including in a historical setting (yes, I did like The Auntie Matter). Canon-typical adventures with a shippy edge are also excellent. Also, I am more than okay with this being combined with the Worldbuilding: Time Lord Marriage Traditions request that I also have.

Sixth Doctor era (the Doctor solo, the Doctor & Peri, the Doctor & Mel)
I really love Six (obviously), with all his prickly edges, and I love his relationships with both his TV companions. (Feel free to include both of them if you like!) I like stories with historical settings, as well as really alien aliens. Either of the companions getting to use the special skills we never saw much of on TV (Peri's interest in botany, Mel's programming abilities) would be really awesome.

I also like stories where platonic pairings go through typical shipping tropes (mistaken for a couple, accidental marriage, only one bed, etc.) and navigate those situations in their own unique ways, ultimately reaffirming how much they value their relationship the way it is (i.e. not ending up as a romantic or sexual pairing). I think that kind of story would be a good fit for either of these relationships.

For Six & Peri, one thing I'd be interested in is a story set soon after the Doctor's regeneration, while he's still suffering from its effects and calling her by the wrong name and all that. How do they learn to cope with each other? How do they reach the much stabler relationship we see by the beginning of S23? (A story set in that much stabler period would also be welcome, of course!)

For Six & Mel, I'd love to see them travelling with a third companion for a bit, or an outsider's perspective on them--they really are such an odd couple! They clearly work so well together, so what makes their relationship tick?

For Six without a companion, I'd be really interested in a story about the Doctor just after a companion leaves and how he copes. (Not particularly well, I think.) Or if we matched on this and you want to write about Six with a companion, see my other prompts! Or, heck, write about Frobisher if you like.

Era-specific DNW: please don't focus on Mel's diet talk (mentions are fine, carrot juice jokes are fine, just please don't make it a plot point).

Worldbuilding requests (public perception of the Doctor, Time Lord marriage traditions, Time Lord political culture): give me alllllll your headcanons! I do like the worldbuilding of the Gallifrey audio series, as well as Lungbarrow and the looms hypothesis, but I realize aspects of these conflict with each other and I'm totally okay if your story conflicts with one or both of them (including if you choose to ignore them completely and just go with the TV show). Feel free to take bits and pieces of canon and your own ideas and cook them all down into a delicious canon soup. For the marriage traditions request, if you want to explore these via a story focusing on a specific couple, I'd prefer a focus on the Doctor/Romana, Andred/Leela, or an OMC/OFC couple. However, for any of these worldbuilding requests, I would be equally happy to receive either a story or something in the format of in-universe meta (e.g. a Gallifreyan news report on the Doctor or an excerpt from a history of Gallifrey--or whatever you come up with).

Doctor Who: Eighth Doctor Adventures
I really just want there to be more fic for this fandom. I'm not very into any of the big arc plots, though; I mainly love the characters and their relationships. I really like seeing how Sam grows and changes over the series, and would like to see a fic that focused on her perspective on that/how her perspective on the Doctor has changed. Canon-typical adventures for the Doctor and Sam are also great, and mild mutual hurt/comfort is very welcome.

Eight, Fitz and Anji are the best TARDIS team ever (sorry, everybody else) and anything for them will be excellent. I think there's what seems like a pretty obvious fic gap at the end of Anachrophobia because the Doctor is very ill at the end of that book and is doing slightly better at the beginning of the next one; something in that period, or during any of that arc after the heart thing when the Doctor is sick and is behaving simultaneously like a consumptive Victorian orphan and the worst patient in the world, would be a great opportunity for some hurt/comfort and caretaking. Anji deserves three million gold stars and chocolate and a bubble bath for putting up with her ridiculous fellow-travellers; anything that focuses on her perspective would be great. I do think she cares about them, but she doesn't think they can really be trusted to look after themselves properly; but she also recognizes that it shouldn't actually be her job to constantly save them from themselves. This is an interesting dynamic.

Gallifrey
Some things I really love in canon and would love to see more of in fic are characters working together and bringing their different strengths to the problem, political shenanigans involving unlikely Gallifreyan traditions, and timey-wimey nonsense bleeding into the narrative (like in Square One).

I also, if this strikes your fancy, like seeing traditional shippy tropes interpreted in a platonic way with these characters, like "only one bed (leading to cuddle pile of comfort)," "enemies to friends," or angstier ones like "each of them thinks the other is dead."

I would not be averse to an AU if you have a well-thought-out idea for one, especially if you use it as a way to explore parallels of the relationships and themes in canon.

Space Opera
I've read this book several times (and cried every time)--it's a book I really love. I haven't read it recently enough to make this request at any level of plot-specific detail, but one thing I really enjoyed was the wide variety of alien species each with their different, biologically and culturally conditioned idea of what 'music' even is. I would like to see a story about (or in-universe meta about) a past or future contest where the focus is on a different species. I think there's room for a lot in this universe!
