Average stats meme
(snaffled from
thisbluespirit, she of the best memes)
The idea, you see, is that the works at the top and the bottom of your stats are not necessarily representative, nor are they necessarily the ones you want more people to read. But maybe the average-for-you ones are!
The math is fairly easy for me this year because I only started posting fic this year (in March, I think). Next year I shall have to actually manipulate the ao3 interface.
Average word count: 887
Average hits count: 79
Average Kudos count: 13
Average no. of comment threads: 3
Average no. of Bookmarks: 2
Work(s) closest to the average word count: Ecdysis is by far the closest at 889 words. It is fairly typical for me--a one-scene Six and Peri character sketch. I like writing that sort of thing. But it is also about (and dedicated to) cicada swarms, which not all my fics are.
Work(s) closest to the average hit count: It's between Making Lemonade (Six and Peri character sketch + trope subversion, but really more just 'pun on fandom term,' so yes, very me) at 78 and All the Time in the World (Six and Mel first meeting + character sketch; my first posted fic!) at 79. I suspect that these may be literally the exact same seventy-odd people opening all my Six stories.
Work(s) closest to the average no of comments (/+ kudos if too many): There's one that has exactly the average number of comments AND kudos, my very recently posted drabble Sixes and Sevens. Drabbles are one of the main Aurelia-things that hasn't come up yet, so that seems apt. I swear I do write things without Six in them sometimes, though! Where's Romana in this meme?
Work(s) closest to the average no of comments (/+ bookmarks): The aforementioned Sixes and Sevens has 1 bookmark, as does "She's Already There": 10 AUs for Iris Wildthyme, an answer to a Tumblr askbox meme that I archived for, uh, posterity? The comments on the latter work, however, are very disproportionately lovely.
Work(s) closest to the average no of kudos (/+ bookmarks): Besides the previously mentioned Sixes and Sevens, the also previously mentioned Making Lemonade has 13 kudos (although a whopping 5 bookmarks!), and then there's Motivation, a Six and Mel humor ficlet that I really should've just edited down into a drabble. Motivation also has, inexplicably, one subscription, from I think probably someone who was trying to subscribe to the series.
So... on average I write short genfic with Six in it. If you like this sort of thing, as they say, then this is the sort of thing that you will like.
(The meme is, of course, everyone's for the taking!)

I think you have a good kudos-to-hits ratio there, aye?

All statistics are lies anyway, as we all know that. But the navel-gazing is enjoyable, as is the fic!
